THRIVE Knoxville is hosting a Spring Into Parks event at Auld Park to clean the area in preparation for outdoor recreation this spring and summer. Community members are invited to volunteer their time to make improvements on Sunday, April 25th from 1:00 to 3:30 p.m. Board member Cassi Pearson says a variety of tasks need to be completed.

“If you like to rake leaves, there’s usually quite a bit around the playground equipment or fence lines. We also have some painting we’re going to do. The Rotary Club is donating two trees to be planted. If we have enough people show up, we’ll send some people to Young’s Park to clean up around the baseball field there. All you have to do is show up and take some directions. In two hours, we can get a lot done.”

People are asked to bring their own work gloves, but all other materials will be provided. No sign-up is necessary, and masks are optional. Learn more about the event here.
