The Knoxville City Council approved updated Fire/EMS fees at its meeting Monday. Interim City Manager Heather Ussery says these changes align with the increasing costs of providing these services.
“Every year to two years, staff reviews the fees for doing the rescue service, as well as fire and hazardous materials to make sure we’re recouping the cost of doing the service. There were a couple of fees that needed to be adjusted: the standby fee and mileage charges. Those were the ones that were adjusted this time around.”
Event standby is now $150 per hour, and mileage has been increased to $17 per mile. View the updated fees here.
