The Central softball team hosted Loras Friday in a doubleheader, and earned a sweep in a three-game weekend series. The Dutch needed extra innings to finish off a 5-4 victory in game 1. A Lauren Birt single in the eighth drove in Megan Doty for the game-winning run. Central had no problems in game 2, holding off the Duhawks 6-0. The teams finish the series Sunday with a single game at 1:00 p.m. at the A.N. Kuyper Sports Complex.

The baseball team split its first two games at Loras Friday. Central fell 8-5 in game 1, but had their way in a game 2 4-1 victory. The teams return to action today to wrap up the series. The doubleheader begins at 4:00 p.m., with Jon Mohwinkle calling the action on 92.1 KRLS. Pregame coverage begins at 3:55.

Also in action today is the track & field teams at the Drake Relays. The women’s golf team hosts the Battle at Bos at noon at Bos Landen Golf Club. The soccer teams conclude their spring season at home against Luther. The men start the doubleheader at 1:00, with the women following at 3:30.
