The COVID-19 pandemic has hit retirement facilities particularly hard as the virus attacked that vulnerable population, and safety measures prevented the elderly from largely interacting with their families and friends over the past year.

Nancy Hamilton is Executive Director of Hearthstone, a Ministry of Wesleylife, and says they have been inching toward more normalcy this spring after undergoing strict protective guidelines since last March. Hamilton says the general public receiving their COVID-19 vaccines and continuing to practice mask-wearing and distancing will allow their residents to continue getting closer to regular life over the next several months.
