Eagles Fall to Ranked DCG Soccer Teams
Pella Christian’s soccer teams couldn’t keep pace with a pair of ranked DCG Soccer teams, with the Eagles girls falling to the No. 11 in 2A Mustangs 5-0 and the Eagles boys falling in Grimes to No. 5 in 2A DCG 10-0. At home, Head Coach Mike Buchheit says, “In order for our PC team to compete against the best in our class and conference we have to have sustained periods in which we don’t give up scores. Once we have our defense organized well We can then get more girls ahead to give us a stronger attack for scoring.”
Pella Christian held DCG scoreless in stretches of 23 minutes, 24 minutes, and 17 minutes, but were in an early hole they couldn’t overcome. The 3-4 Eagles are off the pitch for games until Knoxville next Monday at Ken Locke Stadium at 5:30pm.
Pella Christian’s 1-7 boys return to the pitch at home vs. Collins-Maxwell Monday.
