indianola-3

Four Indianola High School spring sports teams are in action today. The Indianola boys track and field team is fresh off of a first place finish at the Carlisle Wildcat Invitational on Tuesday, but will have to match up with some of the state’s biggest schools around the metro today on the road at Waukee.

The Indianola girls and boys tennis teams put their undefeated conference records on the line against powerhouse Pella. The Indians girls took down Pella Christian on Tuesday 7-4, and will face off against undefeated Pella for first place in the Little Hawkeye Conference. The Indians boys are in a similar situation facing off against undefeated and state title contender Pella. Head coach Jamie Busby tells KNIA Sports the Indians will be ready for the tough challenge.

“We’re ready for the challenge. The boys are ready, and you have to be able to play the best in order to beat them. We are excited for the opportunity, and it will be a good test for us when we have to play Ballard again, to see how much we’ve improved from playing them at the beginning of the year and again at the end on senior night.”

Action for both tennis squads begins at 4:15pm, with the girls on the road and the boys hosting.

And the Indianola boys soccer team looks to break out of a slump tonight hosting the Blue Jays of Perry. Action starts at Indianola Stadium at 7pm.
