The Pella Christian tennis teams found different end results, with the Eagles girls edging Norwalk 6-5 on the road, while the Eagles boys fell to Centerville in the program’s third match returning from a near-decade hiatus Thursday night.
Against the Warriors, Pella Christian fell behind 4-2 after the singles, only to win several tough doubles rounds to come back, including:
Megan Kramer/Kelly Van Wyk winning 7-6 (3), 6-2
Adrienne Vander Molen/Katy Roose winning 6-4, 7-5
Sydney Van Arendonk/Claire Vander Molen winning 6-4, 6-2
Greta Kelderman/Anna Bonnett winning 6-2, 4-6, 10-8 in super tiebreaker
The Eagles girls are next in action at the Pella High School invitational Saturday morning.
In their 3rd match, the Pella Christian boys fell 8-1 to Centerville on Eagle Lane. Beau Bush earned his first varsity win 6-2 and 7-6 in the No. 1 singles spot. The Eagles are back in action today in a makeup on the road to Oskaloosa.
