Melcher-Dallas Boys Golf Finish 3rd in Triangular at Pleasantville

Melcher-Dallas’ boys golf team finished third in their triangular with Pleasantville and Carlisle at the Pleasantville Golf and Country Club Friday.

The Saints’ individual and team scores are unavailable at this time. Both teams will be back in action for a coed meet at Mormon Trail Monday. The meet will begin at 4:00 PM.

Melcher-Dallas Boys and Girls Finish 5th in Coed Meet at Cardinal.

Both of Melcher-Dallas’ track squads came away with fifth-place finishes in the Bob Gerard Memorial Relays at Cardinal Friday.

The Saints’ boys finished with 72 points, five behind fourth-place Moravia and doubling up Moulton-Udell. Melcher-Dallas had three top-three finishes in the meet, all coming in team events. The Saints finished third in the 400 shuttle hurdle, second in the 800 sprint medley, and second in the 1600 distance medley.

Melcher-Dallas’ girls finished with 42 points, one more than sixth-place Tri-County. The girls had three top-two finishes in the meet, all in individual events. J’Lyn Knutson finished first in the 3000 meter run. Grace Overgaard placed second in both discus and shot put.

Melcher-Dallas’ next meet will be the coed conference tournament Tuesday night at Lamoni. The meet will begin at 4:00 PM.
