Twin Cedars is going to the Bluegrass Conference Track and Field Meet on Tuesday. The girls, while not being one of the favorites for the team title, are confident that they can contend along with several individual titles. Coach Cam Parker tells KNIA/KRLS Sports he is spotlighting a number of events for conference titles this season.
Parker:
“I think we’ll have a very good chance to compete for our conference championship. For the first time in our last meet at South Tama, I put every girl in four events, and we beat teams like South Tama and Saydel, and competed very well.”
Parker ads Rylee Dunkin has been one of the top runners in the 1500, and has become a threat in the 100. According to Varsity Bound…Dunkin currently has the top time in the 100 at :13.40, and has the best time in the 800 by a minute, and has the 2nd best time in the 1600. Cheyenne Bruns, who has made great improvement this season, has the 2nd best time in the open 400 and the 3rd best time in the 400 hurdles. Dunkin also has the 2nd best distance in the long jump while Ali Mockenhaupt has the 2nd best throw in the discus. The Bluegrass Conference Meet will be Tuesday in Lamoni.
