A project that challenged local artists to create works with materials that otherwise would have been thrown away was considered a success by Pella Public Library Staff. Carol Weihe with the Library says the Earth Day Upcycle Challenge held in conjunction with the Pella Community Services department had 38 pieces from artists of varying age and expertise use “upcycled” items to make sculptures in March and April. The display will remain at the Pella Public Library until they close at 2 p.m. this Friday.
