The Indianola boys tennis team defeated Knoxville at the Indianola Tennis Complex Monday afternoon 9-2. The Indians got wins in singles from Jackson Becker, Drake Downard, Logan Hageman, Casey Daughenbaugh, and Logan Darrah, while Knoxville’s lone singles win came from Gabe Mathias.
Mathias and partner Jaxon Zuck picked up the win for the Panthers in doubles play, while the tandems of Downard/Hageman, Daughenbaugh/Darrah, Nick Jensen/Sam Thessen, and Nathan Barth/Evan Baker won for the Indians.
Knoxville is now 4-3 on the season and will play conference rival Chariton on Thursday, while the Indians improve to 7-2 and face off with Ballard today at 4:15pm at home.
The Indianola girls golf team placed second to Newton on their home course, shooting a team score of 195. The Indians top golfer on the day was Jaiden Wallander shooting a 44, followed by Hannah Graham shooting a 46, and Kinzey Johnston carding a 47.
The Indians will next golf today at Pella.
