A ribbon cutting ceremony was held Wednesday at the new location of Community Health Center of Southern Iowa in Knoxville. CEO Samantha Cannon says this clinic will fulfill identified needs in Knoxville.
“We are a federally qualified health center, and we’re also a community mental health center, the only organization that’s both in Iowa. We started off with two locations in Decatur County in 2005, and have since grown to 11 locations in 11 counties. Our services range from office to office. We really try to tailor the offerings of each office to what that community needs. And in this community, the need was behavioral health.”
The new clinic is located at 1504 N. Lincoln Street in Knoxville, and is accepting patients.
