Hundreds gathered near the Pella Community Center for the annual race that kicks off Tulip Time in Pella Wednesday evening.

The annual Klompen Classic returned to an in-person event, with nearly 1,500 individuals crossing the finish line of a 5K run/walk to help others through Crossroads of Pella.

Bryant Seuferer was the overall winner, with a time of 16:49.4. The following were category winners:

Male Masters – Joe Dunham – 18:33
Female – Danna Herrick – 18:09.8
Female Masters – Tracy Daugherty – 20:37.7

Director of Crossroads of Pella Jim Hibma says the annual event supports the programs of the non-profit organization.
