Mike & Son Towing in Knoxville presented the Knoxville Police Department with two bicycles with matching helmets and a $1,000 check for Helmets & Hotdogs Thursday morning. Owner Cameron Brown says this is an important cause to him, and wanted to help out as much as possible.

“If I’m driving around in the summer and I see a kid out riding a bike, if it puts a smile on his face, it puts a smile on mine. It’s always great to give back to the community. They helped me out. If it wasn’t for the community, a lot of us wouldn’t be here. I like helping support kids, I’m getting ready to have my own. It’s always nice to know there’s someone out there willing to help kids.”

The donation will help the department purchase bicycles and other supplies for the event on May 28th, the last day of school at Knoxville. Hear more about Helmets & Hotdogs on an upcoming Let’s Talk Knoxville.
