Dutch Boys Golf Team Wins 3A Golf Sectional
Pella’s boys golf team advanced to the 3A District Golf round, winning the Winterset sectional meet Friday. The No. 15 in 3A Dutch shot 330, with No. 6 ranked individual Will Simpson adding another meet medal to his 2021 collection, shooting a tournament-low 73. Ayden Gordon was 6th among individuals, carding an 81, with Clayton Henry scoring 87 and Keagan Miedema shooting an 89 to round out the team score. Pella advances to the Oskaloosa 3A district meet Thursday, but first, returns to regular season action Monday at the Pella Christian Invitational at Bos Landen.

Pella Girls Tennis Surges to Regional Final
The Pella girls tennis team opened the 2021 regional playoffs with a pair of wins, and now find themselves a dual victory away from a state meet qualifying bid. The No. 8 Lady Dutch defeated Albia 5-1 and Davis County 5-2 at home Friday morning. Alloree Else, Noelle Ruckman, and Jade Chapman went 2-0 in singles matches and the duo of Amelia Poe and Allie Singer won the clinching doubles match against the Mustangs. Pella awaits the winner of the No. 5 Pella Christian girls regional bracket on May 22nd at Knoxville High School in the 1A Regional Finals.

Pella Boys Use Strong Scoring Chances to Breeze by Panthers
The No. 4 in 2A Pella Boys Soccer team found a rebound victory over Knoxville 4-0 Friday night at Ken Locke Stadium. The Dutch opened the scoring with a free kick in the 10th minute by Isaac Semini. The junior later set up a scoring opportunity on a throw-in coming in the 26th minute, as he found Logan Solomon, who dished a waist-high kick past the defense for Teddy Apostolopoulos. The freshman who scored set up a long assist on a 30+ yard free kick to find a cutting Isaac Semini just on the left post, who finished for his second goal to give the Dutch a 3-0 lead at the half. Back-to-back corner kicks early in the second half by Austin Bone turned into a score on the second try, as he carved it into the net off of the keeper. The No. 4 Dutch improve to 12-4 and next host the regular season finale Tuesday vs. Pella Christian.


Pella Girls Golf Regular Season Winding Down

The Pella Girls Golf Team placed 4th in a close match in Knoxville Friday. The Lady Dutch shot a 224, led by Reagan VanWyk (50), Ellie Wogen (57), Ella Jahner (57), and Ellie Wiskus (60 in her varsity debut).
