The Central baseball team is back in action today, hosting Nebraska Wesleyan in the 8/9 play-in game in the American Rivers Conference Tournament. The Dutch will look to get momentum back on their side after being swept in a weekend series against Simpson Friday and Sunday, in which the Dutch could not find the offense necessary to win.
The Prairie Wolves enter with an identical 10-22 conference record, but Central owns the tiebreaker by virtue of their 3-1 series win earlier this month. That series featured Central’s strongest outings of the season. Nebraska Wesleyan enters after a split at home against Buena Vista, winning the finale 6-4.
First pitch is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. at the Central Baseball Field at the A.N. Kuyper Sports Complex. Today’s winner advances to play Thursday in Cedar Rapids against top-seeded Coe.
