In the final regular season meet of the spring, the Pella, PCM, and Pella Christian boys golf teams all competed in the Eagles invitational at Bos Landen Monday afternoon. The Dutch placed 1st with a 347, the Mustangs 3rd, and Pella Christian 4th in what became more of a tune up for this Thursday’s district meets. Eagles Head Coach Joel Rietema says the atmosphere was fun, especially after the team qualified for their first second round playoff tournament in seven years.

Pella’s Will Simpson was meet medalist, carding a 77, while teammate Ayden Gordon placed 3rd with a 79. The Eagles were paced by an 88 from Kyle Gao and 93 from Isaiah Breems. PCM’s Andrew Mitchell shot a 81 — 4th among individuals, with teammate Gatlin Boell shooting a 91. Pella Christian and PCM are traveling this Thursday to the Class 2A District meet at Lincoln Valley Golf Course in State Center, while Pella is making the short trek back to Edmundson Golf Course in Oskaloosa for the 3A District tournament.
