The Pella City Council adopted an ordinance amending proposed rates for Pella Fiber at their meeting Tuesday evening. The changes largely deal with managed wifi and static IP services, as well as new charges for voice services and other miscellaneous items.
A resolution in support of proposed terms for a development agreement with RDP Holdings for the Prairie Ridge Development and Smash Park Project, as well as a delay on the closing date for a real estate purchase agreement between the City and Second Christian Reformed Church were also approved.
The council also voted to accept improvements for the Clark Street and Fifield Road Water Main improvement projects and scheduled public hearings on June 15th to approve contracts for the 250th Avenue infrastructure improvement plan and the Pella Municipal Airport Automated Weather Observing System replacement.
Following regular business, discussion was held during Policy and Planning regarding UTV/Golf Cart use in the Pella City Limits, and a proposal for a community fundraising project related to a new K-9 unit for the Pella Police Department. City staff is discouraging allowing the vehicles to be used unless it’s part of a comprehensive transportation reform plan, and council expressed interest in assisting the Pella PD in acquiring a K-9 unit, but no formal action was taken on either item.
