The Knoxville Boys Golf Squad is headed to the class 3A State Tournament while Pella missed the cut by one shot but the Dutch will send Will Simpson to state as an individual as he was overall medalist with a 74 at Edmundson in Oskaloosa on Thursday. The Panthers shot a team total of 330, five shots better than 2nd place Oskaloosa and 14 shots ahead of 3rd place Winterset, who also qualified. Knoxville was led by Evan Smith, who was 3rd individually with a 76. Carson Uitermarkt shot an 82, Beau Leisure shot an 85, Kail Arkema turned in an 87, Jace Nichols had a 90 and Mason Hatch carded a 115. Pella’s scores were Ayden Gordon an 80, A.J. Hoekstra a 93, Thomas Tangen a 98, Keagan Miedema shot a 101, and Clayton Henry turned in a 102. Knoxville and Pella’s Simpson will head to the State Tournament at Elmwood Country Club in Marshalltown May 27th and 28th.
