The City of Pleasantville was recently awarded a $1,000 check from MidAmerican Energy as part of the company’s “Trees Please!” energy efficiency program. The program helps fund tree planting projects in common areas such as publicly owned properties, schools and community spaces. Grant recipients are selected based on each project’s merits, its community benefits, and the applicant’s ability to obtain matching funds.

The grant will help fund Pleasantville plan and design planting trees within a newly created park on the east end of town.
