The Iowa Legislature passed the FY2022 budget to end the session last week, among many other bills in the extended weeks since the scheduled end. State Senator Julian Garrett tells KNIA News the two houses came to an agreement to appropriate over $8 billion for the general fund, which includes over $1.7 million in funds for the Warren County Justice Center.
“The way the law reads when you have a new courthouse or do extensive repairs, the county must provide the building but the state judicial department and legislature provides the furnishing and equipment that goes inside the building and help the function of the judiciary. So we got that done.”
