The Norwalk softball team began its season with a trip to Huxley to take on Ballard, and came away with a 7-3 win. A pair of RBI doubles in the second inning Addi Downe and McKenzie Hunter got the Warriors on the board with an early lead. Another run in the third was quickly answered by three Bomber runs in the bottom of the frame to tie the score. But freshman Jaylynn Brandt broke the tie in the fifth with a two-run scoring hit.

Norwalk would add another run in the inning and an insurance run in the seventh to seal the win.

Sophomore Zadie Wadle was spectacular in the circle, pitching the complete game. She struck out 13 batters while giving up six hits and issuing just one walk. Jayden Lammers, Charlee Peters and Addi Downe led the way at the plate with two hits apiece. Norwalk starts the season 1-0 and returns to action tonight, hosting Southeast Polk. The baseball team began its season by hosting a doubleheader against Des Moines Roosevelt. Norwalk dominated game 1, and enacted the run rule after five innings with a 10-0 victory. In game 2, the Warriors held off a seventh inning Roughrider rally for a 5-4 win. Norwalk begins its season with a 2-0 record, and hosts Gilbert Friday.

The girls soccer team concluded its regular season with a 3-0 win over ADM, and finishes 12-2. They’ll host either Boone or Des Moines Hoover next Wednesday to begin the postseason.
