Pleasantville’s baseball squad picked up their first win of the season as they beat North Mahaska, 13-7, while the softball squad dropped their second straight game to open the season, 13-3.

The Trojans’ baseball squad opened the season with quality performances from three key players. Austin McMillin went one for two with three RBIs. Ben Wicks also went one for two and had two RBIs. The biggest hit of the day though came from Jonah Schumacher, who had a two-run single to put the game out of reach.

Carly Cox got the start for the Trojans, but failed to record an out as she gave up three of the four runs in the first inning. Pleasantville’s defense faltered as they committed six total errors. The loss drops Pleasantville to 0-2 on the season.
