The Pleasantville FFA Chapter is holding a beef sale. Students will raise steers in a junior class beef processing project as part of FFA’s required supervised agricultural experience. Junior Cody Metcalf says the goal is to simulate a real beef business.
“Every year, we do a class SAE project. The juniors do a cattle project with the FFA farm. We put a group together that wants to raise cattle and learn about them. We try to make money like a real program.”
Quarters of beef are available for $800, and halves are available for $1,550 with a down payment of $300. Contact Pleasantville High School or a member of the chapter to make purchases. The beef will be processed by the Otley Locker.
