Pleasantville’s baseball and softball squads each had a rough night in Tulip City as they dropped their games to Pella Christian, as the baseball team lost 6-2, while the softball team were outlasted 11-5.
The Trojans’ baseball squad were only able to muster two runs and both came in the first inning. Austin McMillin pitched three innings and struck out five. Pleasantville’s offense was stagnant as they managed just two hits against Pella Christian’s pitching. This is the fourth straight game Pleasantville has lost to Pella Christian.
The Trojans’ softball squad fought hard with the Eagles, but it ultimately wasn’t enough. Hannah Gibson got the scoring started for Pleasantville with a two-run home run in the second inning. Gibson finished two for two with a home run, two RBIs, and two runs scored. Josie Sowers finished two for four with a double in the loss.
Both of Trojans’ squads will be back in action today as they have their first West Central Conference matchup of the season with Panorama. Both matchups will be doubleheaders and will begin at 5:30 PM.
