Hundreds of elementary school students and parents braved chilly conditions as they celebrated the last day of school at the Knoxville Police Department’s sixth annual Helmets & Hotdogs Friday. School Resource Officer Kyle Keller says a lot of people showed up despite the weather conditions.
Those in attendance enjoyed a free hotdog meal and received a bicycle helmet. Grand prize winners for new bicycles were also drawn. The KNIA/KRLS Lil’ Big Red Radio was on site playing music and making announcements.
