With the World of Outlaws off until Monday, three of the top six in points decided to take a field trip to Knoxville Raceway on Saturday to learn a few things not only for their scheduled stop June 11th and 12th, but also for the Knoxville Nationals in August. If it was any indication of what might happen, Brad Sweet is likely one of the heavy favorites for victory as he took the 410 A-Main and the $5,000 payday as heard live on KNIA Saturday night. Sweet got the lead from Spencer Bayston on a restart and was never really challenged the rest of the way. Fellow World of Outlaw competitor Carson Macedo was 2nd and Kasey Kahne Racing teammate James McFadden was 3rd. Sweet told KNIA/KRLS Sports it was truly a test session and while the car was good, it still has a lot more potential.
Sweet:
“You can definitely take a lot of positives from it. I think the car could be a little better, we’ll jot that down and just try to be a little bit better.”
Jamie Ball made a late race pass on Ryan Giles to claim his second 360 win of the season, and Devin Wignall took the Pro Sprints race.
