The Indianola baseball team puts their hot start and undefeated record on the line Monday against Warren County rival Carlisle. The Indians are on a five-game winning streak to start the season with no games being decided by closer than 7 runs, and giving up just over one run per game on average. Head coach Jon Fitzpatrick tells KNIA Sports the Indians are playing hard to begin the season, and getting up to speed on what is expected of them.
“I’m very much into the mental game and establishing routines, and these guys are starting to recognize when the game is starting to speed up on them and how to slow the game down and get them back into the present moment. Just their awareness of certain situations was really good this past week and putting themselves in the best position possible.”
The game Monday can be heard live on 94.3 KNIA, with Andrew Swadner on the play-by-play. Pregame coverage begins at 7:15pm, with first pitch scheduled for 7:30.
