Twin Cedars traveled to Southeast Warren Saturday to compete in the Nick Dicks Invitational. The Sabers brought home a second place finish after defeating Montezuma and Southwest Valley but falling to Southeast Warren.

It was Grace Bailey who got the start in game one for the Sabers. She cruised to the victory in the tournament opener as the offense put up 10 runs to down Montezuma 10-0. In game two, it was Ali Mockenhaupt who got the start and she followed Bailey’s lead as Twin Cedars downed Southwest Valley 11-1. Bailey was back on the mound for the championship game for the Sabers. The success of game one didn’t roll over in the championship as Twin Cedars fell 8-0. Head Coach Zack Dunkin said pitching would be a strength for the Sabers this season.

It was a busy week one for Twin Cedars Softball as they had nine games in six days. They will be back in action at Moravia Tuesday Night at 5:30 p.m.
