State Senator Ken Rozenboom says he will continue to work on the bottle bill heading into year two of the 89th General Assembly at the Iowa Statehouse.
Rozenboom says he’s been working since he was elected to his seat in 2013 to revise the law providing deposit for cans and bottles to encourage Iowans to recycle. Rozenboom says many provisions are outdated, and he introduced a bill this session that would allow grocery and convenience stores to opt out of accepting empty beverage containers, if an authorized redemption center is within 20 miles, among other provisions.
