The Knoxville Public Library will host the Museum of Bad Art for a program called “Bad Art: 101” Thursday evening. The museum is based in Boston, and has the mission “To celebrate the labor of artists whose work would be displayed and appreciated in no other forum.” Heather Libby with the library says this should be a humorous program for all ages.

“It should be a fun way to think about and appreciate art. The Museum of Bad Art has been around since 1994. They’re dedicated to bad art, and I think there’s going to be a lot of humor in this program. They travel around, sharing bad art they’ve collected from thrift stores, yard sales, etcetera. They’re going to interpret the bad art, compare it to classical art. It should be a lot of fun.”

The program is available via Zoom, or people can attend a watch party at the library Thursday at 7:00 p.m. Libby requests those wanting to attend in person call the library to reserve a spot. Bad art kits are available, and can be returned by Tuesday, June 15th to be displayed and be entered to win prizes.
