Ciara Heffron earned the win in game one going the distance scattering five hits, striking out five and walking six while Ashlyn Finarty got the win in game two going 5 1/3 innings allowing just two hits, striking out six and walking just one. Olivia Maasdam was 2/3 in game one with two RBI while Emma Dunkin hit her first home run of the season in game two going 2/3 with two RBI, Heffron was 3/5 with three RBI, and not to be outdone Brittany Bacorn went 3/4 with four RBI. Coach Carla Smith tells KNIA/KRLS Sports the middle of her line up is already good, but she is still looking for girls to step up at the plate to be a well rounded offensive team

Smith:
“I’ve seen some pretty big strides from kids this offseason because they knew those were their weak points. We’re going to be strong in our 3, 4, 5 in the line up but I’m looking for kids willing to improve their hitting in other parts of the line up.”

Knoxville is now 6-2 on
