The Norwalk baseball team was at Ballard Tuesday for a non-conference doubleheader. The Warriors earned the sweep in a pair of competitive games, winning 8-6 in nine innings in game 1, and holding on for a 6-4 win in game 2.

Game 1 saw the Bombers take a 6-0 lead, but Norwalk battled back, scoring the game’s final eight runs to seal the win. Norwalk improves to 4-0 overall.

The Warrior softball team hosted ADM in non-conference action, and fell by a 5-0 final. The Tigers scored the game’s first run in the third inning and added two more in the fourth. After a pair of scoreless innings, ADM added two more insurance runs in the seventh. Norwalk drops to 2-2 overall.

Little Hawkeye Conference play begins tonight when both Warrior teams host Pella for doubleheaders. Baseball coach Chad Wiedmann says four games in two days is a grueling stretch, and his team will need to dig deep.

The softball team hosts a Lady Dutch team who is off to a 1-3 start, and will be playing their first games of the week. Both doubleheaders begin at 5:30 p.m. in Norwalk. Game 2 of the softball doubleheader will air on 94.3 KNIA with Jon Mohwinkle and Jill Anderson on the call.
