Twin Cedars traveled to Moravia Tuesday for a summer teams matchup with the Mohawks, and softball routed Moravia 20-3 while the Sabers baseball team fell 11-7

The Sabers bats were on fire against the Mohawks as they collected 20 hits including six for extra bases. Jillian French contributed her first and second career varsity home runs as she went 4-5 with six RBIs on the night. Kisha Reed was 3-3 with 2 RBI’s. Grace Bailey was excellent again for Twin Cedars going 3-3 with three RBIs at the plate and pitching all seven innings striking out 8 with no walks allowed. 

Twin Cedars was in the driver’s seat for most of the game taking a 7-0 lead into the 5th inning on the baseball diamond. The Sabers let the game slip away however, as they fell 11-7. Kade Dunkin continued his hot start to the season, going 2-3 with a stolen base and a RBI. Nathan Smith was 3-4 with three RBIs and four of Twin Cedars’ eight stolen bases.

Twin Cedars softball will travel to Des Moines tonight to take on Des Moines North at 5:30. The Sabers baseball team has the night off before traveling to Chariton for a doubleheader Thursday.
