Registration is open for the third Your Life Matters 5K Run/Walk in August. Your Life Matters is a local organization whose mission is to raise awareness for suicide prevention. Organizing Committee member Michaela Bigaouette says this is the main fundraiser for the group, and they’re always looking for new ways to further their cause.

“We’re always looking for new projects, new ways we can reach young people. Whether that’s through Little League, curriculum in the school, scholarships, programs that local mental health professionals reach out and ask us to sponsor. We’re open to anything and everything. We work with the Marion County Coalition for Suicide Prevention to help bring those projects into our schools.”

The Your Life Matters 5K Run/Walk is Saturday, August 28th, starting and ending at Knoxville High School. Registration costs $25 for ages 19+ and $20 for those 18 and under. Click here to register, and listen for more details on an upcoming Let’s Talk Knoxville.
