Indianola bulldozed their way through Eagle Lane, combining for 58 runs in four games at Pella Christian, with the baseball team winning 16-4 and 18-2 and the No. 4 in 5A Indians girls sweeping their series 12-2, 12-0, with game two heard live on 92.1 KRLS.
Home runs were the name of the game for Indianola’s high-octane offense, as it was close in game one through four innings, before a pair of three-run home runs busted that contest open.
The Indians picked up where they left off to start game two, hitting three more home runs in the first two innings, including Macie Mays and a game-changing grand slam in the 2nd inning.
Destiny Lewis finished 5-for-6 with a pair of home runs in the double header for Pella Christian; Emri Agre had a solo shot in game one for the Eagles.
Indianola improves to 6-1 overall, while Pella Christian falls to 4-3; a ranked showdown is a highlight for the Indians at DCG Friday, while the Eagles jump out of the conference against Colfax-Mingo tonight, which can be heard live on 92.1 KRLS.
On the baseball diamond, the Indians punished the Eagles for several errors. In game two, P.C. and Indianola were tied 4-4 after three innings, before the road team put up a 7-spot in the 4th. The Indianola baseball team is now 8-0, while the Eagles fall to 1-5; the Indians take on Ottumwa at Legion Memorial Field in Ottumwa, while Pella Christian is off until a Friday road trip to Grinnell.
