Melcher-Dallas’ baseball squad came up just short as they lost to Marion County foe Pleasantville, 5-3 and will be a part of a doubleheader with the softball team against Moulton-Udell tonight.
The Saints’ baseball squad had a rough day at the plate, coming away with just three hits total and scoring all of their runs in the seventh inning. The three hits came from Steven Krpan, Owen Suntken, and Max Enfield. Suntken pitched a quality start, giving up one hit and two runs while striking out six in six innings of work.
The Saints’ softball squad has gotten off to a great start, currently sitting at 7-2 through their first nine games of the season, and have won three straight games. Melcher-Dallas also has outscored their opponents in those three games 28-1, including a 16-0 beatdown at Mormon Trail Tuesday. The victory was also a perfect game for BrieAnna Remster, who also went two for three with a double.
The doubleheader tonight begins at home at 5:30 PM.
