The Pella Christian Eagles’ softball squad got back to their winning ways as they knocked off Colfax-Mingo in five quick innings, 10-0, as heard live on 92.1 KRLS Thursday evening.

Alexa Dunsbergen pitched five innings of two-hit shutout softball, throwing just 37 pitches, which included two five-pitch innings. Anna Bonnett led the way at the plate for the Eagles as she finished four for four with a double and three RBIs. Natalie Harrill opened the game up with a two-run home run as part of a six-run third inning. Harrill also had an RBI double that put the mercy rule into effect. Coach Karen Harrill tells KRLS Sports that it was the pitching of Dunsbergen and a key hit from Bailey Roose that set the tone for the game.

The Eagles softball team improves to 5-3 overall, and returns to Little Hawkeye Conference action on the road to No. 13 in Class 4A Grinnell this evening, with the baseball team also making the trip northeast.
