Pleasantville’s softball and baseball squads came away with three total victories against West Central Valley Thursday.

The Trojans’ softball team swept the Wildcats with scores of 10-0 and 11-4 in their doubleheader. Game one was over after five innings thanks to a three-hitter thrown by Faith Vanderhart and a three-hit night for Amber McKinney. Game two was led behind a two-run home run from Malorie McKinney as part of a six-run second inning.

The Trojans’ baseball squad split their doubleheader as they won game one 5-1, but lost game two, 2-1. Game one was dominated by Aaron Wilkins, who pitched a complete game and struck out 15 batters. Game two was a different story, as Pleasantville struck out looking six times in the loss.

Pleasantville’s softball squad is back in action today for a tournament at Iowa City with games against Bettendorf and North Scott. The first game begins at 2:45 PM. The Trojans’ baseball squad will be back in action Saturday for a tournament at Coon Rapids-Bayard.
