Twin Cedars dominated Saturday in a four team softball tournament hosted by Colo Nesco. They defeated Belmond-Klemme 10-0 in five innings and then took down the hosts 10-0 in five innings.
Grace Bailey threw a one-hit shutout in the circle with six strikeouts in the opening game against the Broncos. The offense came through with 10 hits in the game. Kenzyn Roberts and Ali Mockenhapt led the charge as Roberts went 3-4 with three runs scored, a stolen base, and a run batted in and Mockenhapt went 3-3 with two RBIs. Chloe Durian added two base hits and a pair of walks.
In the championship game, the Sabers again turned to Bailey in the circle and she delivered a two-hit shutout with seven strikeouts and no walks allowed. The Twin Cedars offense pounded out 10 hits against the hosts in the victory. Kisha Reed came through with a 3-3 performance with two runs scored, a stolen base, and a RBI. Jetta Sterner added a base hit and a sacrifice to go with a pair of runs scored.
The Sabers softball team comes back from winning the tournament to play undefeated Davis County in a doubleheader Monday night, with game 1 starting at 5:30.
