The Pella Police Department is organizing a basketball fundraiser this weekend with first responders competing on the court to raise money for the Iowa Concerns for Police Survivors organization.

Chief Shane McSheehy says the public is invited to watch the charity tournament Saturday morning and afternoon to raise funds for the group supporting the families of fallen officers.

The event starts at Pella High School at 9am. Participants must have a public safety ID to participate in the 3 on 3, whether they are LEO, Fire or EMS. Admission for those wanting to watch is $5 at the door, and the team entry fee is $45 for the double elimination tournament.
