A Knoxville man faces felony charges after being arrested on a warrant Thursday. Just after 4:00 p.m., a Knoxville officer performed a warrant check at 502 West Pleasant Street, where 26-year-old Scott Michael Hopkins is known by officers to stay.

The officer made contact with Hopkins in the basement, where Hopkins was placed under arrest for active warrants. During the search, the officer located a homemade marijuana pipe in his pocket. Hopkins advised the officer that he had “a little bit” of marijuana in his bedroom, and turned it over to the officer. Also located in the room were glass pipes, hypodermic syringe, and a digital scale with crystalline residue.

Hopkins faces charges of possession of controlled substance third or subsequent offense, a Class D felony. Bond is set at $5,000, and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 11th.
