PCM traveled to Newton Tuesday for a softball game, where they fell 11-1. The baseball team was at Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont, were the Mustangs lost 9-0
On the softball diamond, PCM trailed for most of the contest as Newton struck first for a run in the first inning before adding five more in the third and fourth innings. Sidney Shaver would double in RaeAnn Duinink for the lone Mustang run in the top of the fifth before Newton would score five more in the bottom half to end the game. Head Coach Sean Hudnut expects the team’s day by day mentality to help the team bounce back from the loss.
PCM baseball couldn’t get the offense rolling Tuesday as no one finished with multiple hits in the game. Cade Lindsay and Sage Burns each had one hit a piece. Zeb Padgett took the loss on the mound.
The Mustang softball squad will host Roland Story tonight at 7:30 p.m. The baseball team heads to Clarke to take on the Indians at 5:30.
