Melcher-Dallas’ softball and baseball squads had productive days in their tournaments as the softball squad won the Northwood-Kensett Tournament while the baseball team split at the Moulton-Udell tournament.

The Saints’ softball squad shut out Northwood-Kensett 11-0 in game one. BrieAnna Remster went two for four with a home run and also pitched five innings of shutout softball to get the win. Game two saw a nearly identical result as Melcher-Dallas knocked off Lake Mills 11-1. Riley Enfield went two for two with two doubles, two RBIs, and two runs scored. The wins put Melcher-Dallas at 15-3 on the season.

The Saints’ baseball squad dropped the first game of the Moulton-Udell tournament to Mormon Trail 12-6. Melcher-Dallas was able to get two hits from Cole Metz and Owen Mann, but it was a whopping 13 errors that doomed them. Game two saw Melcher-Dallas put up 20 runs for the second time in three games with a 24-4 victory over Moulton-Udell. Metz and Steven Krpan had four hits each and a combined seven extra-base hits. Melcher-Dallas now stands at 7-6.

The Saints’ softball squad will be back in action Monday, travelling to Cardinal for their next game. The game will begin at 4:30 PM. Melcher-Dallas’ baseball squad will be back in action Tuesday for a Bluegrass Conference matchup with Lamoni.
