The Mustangs traveled to Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont for a tournament Saturday. PCM won their first matchup with Mid-Prairie 10-4 before falling to Sigourney 3-0.

PCM started off strong as Lark Drake went 3-3 with two doubles and scored three runs. Riley Johannes added a pair of doubles as well and has a chance to break the PCM record for doubles at the pace she is on. Joslin Briles hit her fourth homer of the season and Riley DeVore hit her first varsity home run.

Game two was a different story as PCM was unable to adjust to a pitcher with more velocity. Despite a good day from DeVore in the circle, the Mustangs weren’t able to overcome the early deficit as they fell to Sigourney.

PCM softball maintained a .500 record as they moved to 8-8 on the year. They will look to make it over that mark Monday night when they go to Nevada for a Heart of Iowa Conference matchup with the Cubs. That game begins at 7:15 p.m.
