Marvin William Ingle, 97, of Prairie City was called home on Thursday June 10, 2021.
Marvin was born March 15, 1924 to Charles and Electa (Miller) Ingle. He graduated from Pleasantville high school, and after graduating he was drafted into the service of his country. He served during World War 2 in both the European and Asiatic theaters, and he was honorably discharged following the war. Marvin was united in marriage to Melda Daugherty on August 19, 1950. Four children were born from this union. He then went on to earn his Doctor of Education from the University of Missouri. After graduation he spent time working as a teacher, as well as working for the State Board of Education. He also worked as a salesman for the Horace Mann insurance company, and during that time he received numerous salesman of the month awards. In 1974 he finally reached his true and final calling when he began working as an evangelist in the Church of Christ. He spread the gospel of Christ for over 40 years, and he was known as an evangelist who was not afraid to speak his mind. During his time as an evangelist, he helped many people come to know the Lord. In his free time, Marvin enjoyed gardening, planting flowers, junking, and spending time with his family. He was a faithful member of the Church of Christ in Vandalia, Iowa.
