Melcher-Dallas’ softball squad suffered just their fourth loss of the season as they lost at Cardinal Monday night, 9-4.

The Saints made a valiant effort coming back from being down 5-1 after three innings, but Cardinal pulled away after Melcher-Dallas cut it to one. Seven fielding errors were the difference in the game. Kynser Reed went three for three with a double and an RBI. Emma Clark went one for three with two RBIs in the loss. Melcher-Dallas now stands at 14-4.

The Saints’ softball squad will be back in action today with the baseball team for a Bluegrass Conference matchup with Lamoni. The doubleheader will begin with the baseball game at 5:30 PM.
