Melcher-Dallas’ softball squad knocked off Lamoni 11-1, while their baseball squad were clobbered by Lamoni for the second time this season as they lost 15-1.
The Saints’ softball squad got a tremendous performance from freshman Paetyn Anderson, as she went three for three with a home run and 5 RBIs. Kacey Enfield finished two for three with an RBI and two runs scored in the victory. With the win, Melcher-Dallas improves to 15-4 on the season.
The Saints’ baseball squad were in a pitcher’s duel for the first four innings of the game before Lamoni dropped 11 runs in the fifth. Ryan Krpan finished two for two and Owen Mann went one for two with a double. Melcher-Dallas mustered five hits and committed three errors in the loss. The Saints now stand at 7-7 on the season.
Both teams will be back in action today as the softball squad opens play at the Orient-Macksburg tournament against Lenox. The Saints’ baseball squad will travel and go toe-to-toe with Southeast Warren. The baseball game will begin at 6 PM, while the softball game will begin at 7 PM.
