pleasantville-3

Pleasantville’s softball squad struggled to get runs on the board as they lost to Sigourney-Keota, 5-2, while the baseball squad had a defensive letdown to the Savages 13-8.

The Trojans’ softball squad only mustered three hits the whole game, which marred a complete game performance from Faith Vanderhart on the mound. The three hits came from Josie Sowers, Hannah Gibson, and Leah Adreon. Sowers states that the team needs to play better in order to string wins together.

The Trojans’ baseball squad couldn’t stop the batting barrage from Sigourney-Keota. Pleasantville struggled to make routine plays and get off the mound quickly, giving up 13 runs to the Savages. With the loss, the Trojans drop to 7-12 on the season.

Both teams will be back in action for home non conference matchups. The baseball squad will square off with Knoxville and be broadcast on 95.3 KNIA at 7 PM with Alex Koch and Tyler Crabb on the call. The Trojans’ softball squad will battle with Albia, which will also start at 7 PM.
