The Indianola School Board discussed a new auxiliary building site at their meeting Monday, which would house district transportation, food service, IT, and facilities maintenance staff. Superintendent Art Sathoff tells KNIA News the best site would be south of the Indianola Middle School, which would impact the site of one of the senior league fields for Indianola Little League. Sathoff said the district has a lease with Indianola Little League for the field space, so they will need to work with the organization if the building is to move forward at that location.

“If we are even going to entertain that site, we are going to need to figure out how we can add some value for little league and work with them to make up any lost revenue or functionality for them if one of those fields were not available. So we just had a very preliminary conversation at the meeting to explain the situation and recognize that we do have that lease, and seeing if they will go talk to the board and brainstorm some ways to have the district partner up with them and possibly have that as a site.”
